Dr. A. V. Jithan is presently working as the Principal at Omega College of Pharmacy, Affiliated to Osmania University, Hyderabad. Dr. Jithan is an experienced academician, researcher and administrator with the qualifications of B.Pharm, M.Pharm, PhD and ACCR.  He has totally 27 years of experience in academic institutes and 5 years of experience in Pharma industry in R & D departments.  He worked in reputed academic institutes in various capacities which include Professor, Head of the Department, Deputy Director (Research and PG Studies) and Principal. He worked in R & D departments in reputed pharmaceutical industries in India and USA as a  Scientist as well as a Manager at the levels of Associate Director and General Manager. Dr. Jithan taught B.Pharm and Pharm D students in subjects related to industrial pharmacy, biopharmaceutics and pharmacokinetics, statistics, and pharma manufacture. Dr. Jithan taught M.Pharm students in the specialization of pharmaceutics. 

He guided more than 100 M.Pharm projects and 6 PhD projects. 3 students have completed PhD and 2 students have submitted their thesis under his supervision. Dr. Jithan is the main author of about 100 scientific publications in international journals and coauthor of about 40 among book chapters, invited lectures, oral and poster contributions to scientific congresses. He has 5 patent applications to his credit. He completed 5 research projects funded by DST, Govt of India and Industries from India and abroad.    

He recently completed 2 years of sabbatical positions in Pharm Industry gaining experience in R & D involving generic products and differentiated products and also in pharma manufacture. He served at several research publication houses as a reviewer, editor and editorial board member. He recently completed 10 years of service as a Principal at PCI recognized pharmacy college in India.  He is a Registered Pharmacist at TS Pharmacy Council.
